OpenVein.com is written in the XHTML 1.0 transitional DTD. CSS and Javascript are employed for dynamic graphic substitution, with a small dash of Prototype Effects.
The backend is written in PHP, with an SQL backend to house the data. It is served by the Apache webserver at Dreamhost with liberal use of mod_rewrite magic and some scripty tactics to publish static copies.
All graphics are original, and were either hand-rendered, drawn digitally in Corel Painter with a Wacom Intuos3, or designed in Adobe Photoshop.
The favicon.ico was generated via the splendid png2ico library.
